Do you not see? We are not Westerners. We are Southrons. We are Harad and most of the Harad are against those of the West. We are unique in a sense.

*I pull my arm away*
YOU are Harad. YOU are the prejudices of our land!

I leave abruptly

*I emerge from the guest room, watching her storm away* What...was that all about?

She called me the prejudice of the lands. Perhaps, she requires reconciling. She comes from Mirkwood, among the many factions that side with Gondor who pointlessly lay a claim to our lands and try to steal it from us. But we are no ally of Mordor, nor the nearby Umbar, and we know the peoples of Mordor and it's allies would quickly end us if they pleased.

I fear Thranduil and those of my kin in Mirkwood are poisoning her mind. I do not think I can change that here, now. She is young, do not take her insults to heart.

Insults? Bah, insolence, you cannot raise a person to be so narrow-minded, hating a faction because you were told to.

*I smile at you* I'm glad she didn't find you and I did...I don't think your presence would have been greatly celebrated in Mirkwood.

My presence wasn't entirely... celebrated here either.

Well we didn't kill you, which was what you were expecting. *I turn away suddenly, once again playing with my mother's bracelet*

*I turn you around*

I expected you to sell me as a prisoner of war to Gondor. I am worth alot of money to them.

*I look up at you* After all we wentthrough in those mountains, do you really think I would do that. To you? *I turn to go*

No.

*I turn you back.*

I... I don't think so, you would of left me there and then, to die.

What?

You could of left me on those mountains... but you didn't....

Of course not!

Then... why did you do it?

You did not know me. I ask what drove you to assist me in the first place.

There is something about you that is different to the other Harad I have met... like loyalty, but to others as well as your own kind.
