The Hobbit roleplay

*I nudge you awake: you are asleep in one of the larger guest rooms, long flowing curtains are all around. I'm no longer in my riding clothes, but in a long dark red dress*
They set out about an hour ago to meet the envoy

*I am wearing all but my cloak, which I quickly slip on*

What? So, everything is being sorted?

I hope so. They should return by nightfall, we shall know by then

Good. What do we do until then?

*sits at the end of your bed* We wait. *I absently play with the bracelet on my left wrist#

*Moves over and sits beside, I pull out my amulet attached to a necklace, the Amulet of Arkánfar*

*I look up from the bracelet. I reach out to hold the amulet, to inspect it more closely*

We... in Harad have never truly understood this amulet... and it's powers... It was found in the ruin of Karna, much like King Suladan of a neighbouring tribe managed to find the sword of the only King to have ever united the Harad, also called, Suladan.

Our capability of finding such powerful apparel is the stuff of legends, the Ancient Harad are something of a legend, and we do not understand why it works

There is great magic there, but it his hidden, centuries old. I can feel it.

What sort of magic?

*He comes closer to her, intruiged*

*I shake my head slightly* It's difficult to say. As I say, it's buried, so much I can hardly sense it, but it is powerful.

*I take it off of you, cupping the stone in my hands. I look all over it, murmuring in Elvish, almost coaxingly*

*a shy young red head elf emerges from behind a pillar, having been stood silently for a long time,but no one has noticed her*

*I tear my eyes from the amulet* Hith! *I smile warmly*

*I regard you warily, and nod a greeting* You have travelled far, Mardat. I know your homeland. I once knew a man called Valerion there

*I glance to Mardat, unsure how he wil react*

How do you know of such a man? If that be the man I know of....

For an elf of mirkwood you have travelled far. Not normally do you venture to this extent?

*I shoot a suspicious glance at you, looking even more on edge* I do not stay in one place. I AM originally from Mirkwood, though how you know THAT I don't know. But I refused to stay there with those proud and conceited elven folk. I am...an elvish ranger, so to speak
